From sign up to delivered in three steps.

Every account is verified before it sends. After that, one dashboard form or one API call reaches NTC, Ncell and Smart Telecom subscribers.

Ready? Create your account or read the API docs.

  1. Step 1

    Create an account and verify

Register, then complete KYC with your personal or business documents. Review takes 2 to 3 business days, then sending opens with a 7-day starter period of 50 SMS a day to verified numbers.

  2. Step 2

Add credit and get a key

Top up SMS credit, then send straight from the dashboard without writing code, or generate a scoped API key for your own system.

  3. Step 3

    Send and track delivery

Write your message, type the numbers or pick a saved list, and send. Every recipient shows delivered or failed in the dashboard, and by webhook if you use the API.

Questions, answered.

What is EK Message?

EK Message is an SMS gateway and REST API for Nepal, built and operated by Ek Ra Sunya Inc. It sends bulk SMS, OTP codes and alerts to subscribers on Nepal Telecom (NTC) and Ncell from one API key or from the web dashboard.

How much does an SMS cost?

Published rates run from NPR 0.90 per SMS credit for up to 10,000 a month down to NPR 0.60 above 200,000, across 6 volume tiers. Rates exclude 13% VAT. There is no monthly fee and no setup fee. One message segment to one recipient uses one credit.

How many characters fit in one SMS?

160 characters in standard GSM-7 text, or 70 when the message contains Unicode such as Nepali. Longer messages are split into segments of 153 or 67 characters, and each segment is billed as one credit.

Can I send SMS in Nepali?

Yes. Nepali (Devanagari) and other Unicode text is supported. Unicode segments hold 70 characters, and a single send can carry up to 2,000 characters.

Do I need to verify my account before sending?

Yes. Every account completes KYC with personal or business documents, and sending is enabled once a reviewer approves it, usually within 2 to 3 business days. Approval adds free SMS credit to get started: 5 SMS for a personal account, 10 for an organization. For the first 7 days after approval an account can send up to 50 SMS a day, only to numbers verified by OTP.

How do I get a sender ID?

Request a branded alphanumeric sender ID of up to 11 characters from the dashboard. Once it is approved for your account you can send with it. Until then, messages go out under the shared sender ID AT_Alert.

How is delivery reported?

Every message has a status you can fetch from the API or see in the dashboard. Add a callbackUrl to a send and EK Message posts a message.delivered or message.failed event to your endpoint, signed with HMAC-SHA256 using a secret unique to your account, with up to 3 attempts. Credits for a failed message are refunded.

Can I send through my own Android phone?

An Android gateway app that routes messages through a paired phone is available by invitation. Email [email protected] to request access.

Is there a limit on API requests?

A single request can carry up to 1,000 recipients, and the API accepts up to 120 requests per minute.
